MEET YOUR CALM IN THE WEDDING DAY CHAOS…

The human behind Raw By Laura

I’m the one fixing veils, wrangling groomsmen, calming nerves, and nodding along while Uncle Bob tells me about his photography “experience” — all while quietly catching the blink-and-you-miss-it moments that matter most. I’m also a proud crybaby Cancer, so ceremonies hit me right in the soul (don’t worry — I shoot perfectly through watery eyes and the Arizona heat).

I blend in when needed, guide when it helps, and make sure your day feels effortless, fun, and fully yours — while your story is being documented beautifully in real time.

Rooted in

Two Cultures

I’m Colombian at heart and American by way — carrying two homes, two cultures, and two languages into every space I enter. As a bilingual wedding photographer fluent in English and Spanish, I connect naturally with couples from diverse and multicultural backgrounds, creating a photography experience that feels personal, understood, and como en casa.

My perspective shapes the way I document weddings — with warmth, awareness, and a deep respect for family, tradition, and the moments that bring people together. I’m always open to photographing celebrations across different cultures, identities, and love stories, and I proudly create an inclusive, LGBTQ+ affirming space where every couple feels seen, respected, and celebrated.

Whether your wedding is local or destination, intimate or vibrant, I approach it with intention, connection y corazón.

Where It All Began

Before becoming a full-time wedding photographer, I spent seven years working in nonprofit organizations as a Child Advocate, Social Worker, and Corporate Trainer within immigration and child protective services. Those years not only shaped my deep connection to people — listening to stories, witnessing real emotion, and understanding the power of authentic, unscripted moments — but also built the professionalism, responsibility, and emotional awareness I bring into every wedding I document.

I first picked up a camera in 2012, and photography quickly became my creative outlet. In 2014, while working at a wedding event company in Brooklyn, New York, I helped a DJ capture behind-the-scenes wedding content and was often booked through him for wedding photography — an experience that confirmed this path was where I truly belonged. After completing my bachelor’s degree and stepping into the traditional 9–5 world, I realized that if I was going to dedicate my life to work, it had to be something that genuinely fulfilled me.

In 2023, I fully committed to building Raw By Laura as a full-time Arizona wedding photography business, focused on documenting genuine connection, real emotion, and the moments that make every wedding story unique through natural, story-driven wedding photography.

Things I love

  • A bride and groom in wedding attire embrace outdoors among trees, with the bride holding a bouquet of white and peach flowers.

    My Husband

  • A woman with curly hair, wearing a red jacket with Japanese patches, is enthusiastically smiling as she holds a large piece of sugarcane near the mouth of an elephant. They are outdoors in a lush, green setting with trees and mountains in the background, and there is a wooden table with more sugarcane and a basket in the foreground.

    Traveling

  • Four dogs resting on a blanket inside a vehicle's trunk area, with a rear window in the background.

    My Dogs

  • Young woman with tattoos eating a hot dog at an outdoor food stall at night.

    Food

  • A woman with curly hair and earrings relaxing in a body of water during sunset, with mountains in the background.

    Sunsets

  • Woman with hair rollers and sunglasses sitting on a green chair in a retro-styled room with a yellow wall.
